Alaris specialise in providing unique design solutions for luxury fitted kitchens. They needed a better and more cost-effective way of charging their customers. We suggested a change of the system they current had – PayPal to Stripe, mainly because of the lower % of fees that Stripe charge. Stripe however, requires some custom development in order to integrate their API and here we came along to help the client out!
In order to meet Stripe’s security requirements, we helped the client set up a new server and upgrade the outdated operating system. Additionally, we migrated their content management system to the new server. The update from CentOS 5 to CentOS 7 was carried out in order for us to install TLS1.2 and make sure the payments are processed in the most secure way. The client’s content management system – WordPress was integrated with Stripe’s API with some custom development, which allowed the client to process payments on a designated page on their website.
The future savings that Alaris is going to make will only increase with time, since the payment fees of Stripe are 1.4% + 20p per transaction, while PayPal PRO’s fees are 1.9% + 20p per transaction.
The services provided to the client were:
1. Server configuration
2. Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 protocol installation
3. WordPress migration
4. Stripe API integration
5. Testing and QA
